A new fitted kitchen in Suffolk complete with utility, dresser and TV area
Last year our clients approached us as they were looking for a new fitted kitchen in suffolk along with a utility room, dresser and TV area to be installed into the adjoining rooms. They were after whole new look, giving us a brief of a combining the traditional shaker style cabinetry and the modern two-tone colour scheme with beautiful oak elements in their new fitted kitchen. They wanted to make the most of the space and include a large preparation area with plenty of entertaining space for all the family.
This fitted kitchen in Suffolk is a contemporary twist on a very traditional design. A simple bead on the frame with a classic inset door. An exterior plinth is fitted around the base units with a 45-degree detail on the top. A detailed cornice follows the tops of all the wall units. Finished with a chrome cup handle on all the drawers and matching knob on the doors. The stunning quartz worktop with subtle marble veining completes the look.
The large island combines a great social space with an excellent preparation area. With a curved solid oak breakfast bar, providing space for up to four people, it is a great area for a morning coffee or a family get together at the weekend. The kitchen has many solid oak dove tail drawers. The smaller top-drawers hold utensils and cutlery where the larger pan drawers are filled with dinner sets and pans. Using runners which are soft close and hold up to 40kg, our drawers are great when filled with kitchen items.
The island also includes an integrated pull out bin, neatly concealed away with no smells. A bespoke handmade moveable chopping board is conveniently set above the bin making preparation easier but with the added benefit of being able to move to all areas of the kitchen and utility for prep and serving options. The island is fully hand painted in the Little Greene Basalt.
Bringing in a focal point to this suffolk kitchen we created a mantle area with a modern oak mantle band with matching cornice. Large corbels are moulded down to the worktop these are painted in Little Greene French Grey Pale which matches the wall colour. This modern take on a very traditional kitchen space joins together our clients brief. Between the two corbels a Neff induction hob, with sleek black glass, rests within the quartz worktop.
The Silestone Lagoon quartz worktop is fitted throughout the kitchen and utility and is a very sophisticated addition to any kitchen. It’s an easy to clean surface and we have included a large backsplash behind the hob so it can be wiped down after cooking. A large piece is mapped around the island flowing with the radius columns and curved breakfast bar. A pop-up socket is set near to the breakfast area and can be easily pushed down to be level with the surface when not in use. A mix of the two worktop materials makes an exquisite partnership. A ribbon light was set into the underside of the oak to add ambience lighting.
All the outer kitchen units, utility room units, dresser and TV area are hand painted in Little Greene French Grey. This calming colour compliments the deep blue of the island and the oak beams.
On the outer run of the fitted kitchen in suffolk we have designed and installed an integrated fridge and dishwasher. A large Franke double bowl sink with drainer groves sculpted out of the Quartz is finished off with a three-way chrome tap, with instant boiling water facility. A single purified drinking water tap sits next to the main tap.
Wrapping around past the mantle area and hob is the tall built in stack of ovens. Our client loves to cook and having a Neff combination oven which can be used as an oven, microwave or grill or a combination of all three together, allows our client to cook with ease. Below is a Neff single slide and hide oven with steam assist functionality to achieve the best cooking results. Below is a Neff large push to open warming drawer. This is great for warming plates up before dinner or keeping food warm ready to serve.
We completed a 3D colour CAD for this client so they can get an idea of what the finished installation will look like. With different colour schemes, flooring and worktops we could achieve the perfect mood board for our client.
The utility room is fully fitted with plenty of storage, pull out larders with metal wire racks and a fully integrated freezer. The washing machine and tumble dryer is hidden behind doors along with a tall space for brooms. A single sink is set under the window and is a useful space for items that you may not want to wash up in your main kitchen sink.
The dresser and TV units are designed in the same style as the kitchen and utility. With solid oak dovetail drawers and a thick solid oak worktop. This is a key design material that links all the rooms together.
Mr & Mrs Mrs Miller from Capel St Mary said “Andrew and the team at Debenvale where great throughout. We loved the element of a family run business and couldn’t fault a thing. Everything was organised and well planned out. The installation team were excellent and highly skilled”.
